The Children’s House recently hosted Parent’s Association Enrichment guest Malcom Sims and his Big Bang Show. In this show, students were shown engaging science that focused on physics, chemistry and electricity. The presenter shocked his audience with examples of centripetal force by keeping water contained in an open rotating bucket. He also showed how electrical currents can move through items and even humans! These, along with other interactive examples like mini rockets blasting off and how acids and bases mix together, clearly highlighted key scientific laws and theories for the students to observe. Malcolm Sims co-owns Jam Time and is the science teacher there. He also performs his traveling show to area libraries. Previously, he worked in visual effects such as Spider-Man 2 the movie and Disney’s Mission Space ride at Epcot Center.
