Dave is a dedicated Montessori educator who has been part of the Riverbend community as an Upper Elementary teacher since 2001. He brings a deep passion for the Montessori philosophy, which emphasizes empathy, social justice, and the joy of lifelong learning. Dave holds a Montessori Credential for ages 6-12 and is a Montessori Model United Nations Coordinator, inspiring students to explore global perspectives.

In the classroom, Dave loves working with Upper Elementary students because they are such capable learners—smart, fun, and full of curiosity! He finds the Riverbend community to be a warm and supportive environment, where students are encouraged to thrive both academically and personally.

Outside of Riverbend, Dave is a Montessori teacher trainer for adult learners at the Montessori Elementary Teacher Training Collaborative (METTC). He has been involved with METTC since 2005 and has served on the board since 2013, contributing to the finance and AJEDI committees. Dave is an avid swimmer, and he won the FINA Masters World Championship 3k event in 2014. He also enjoys photography, hiking, and spending quality time with his wife Mary, who is also a Montessori educator.
