Riverbend Campus
A Montessori education requires open, airy spaces that match the pedagogy of independent, self-paced, creative student learning. As a relatively young school with a deeply committed community, Riverbend has had the unique opportunity to create a campus filled with purpose-built, adaptable learning spaces designed to enhance every student’s daily experience, complement the Montessori programming, and cultivate creativity, invention, and discovery.

Beautiful Setting in South Natick
Situated near the Charles River, our scenic campus features sprawling grounds for our students to explore and a forest at their back door. Our campus buildings are designed to maximize learning and provide students with the space they need to work effectively. Our entire community enjoys convenient access to Boston’s cultural attractions, as well as to natural and historic points of interest within walking distance. Riverbend faculty members make the most of our unique location through many community connections.

Campus Highlights

Children’s House
Our 12,500 square foot “green” Children’s House at 33 Eliot Street opened in 2014. It is home to our Toddler, Primary, and Kindergarten programs, and its five-acre lot includes a playground, outdoor garden, and play spaces for each classroom.

Lower Elementary
Built in 2020, the new Lower Elementary classrooms are purpose-built spaces that are designed to support the Montessori pedagogy. The building provides new areas for art and design spaces to allow our students to expand their curious natures and problem solving skills.

Upper Elementary
Our Upper Elementary building was converted from an historic 18th Century tavern into a new facility, and has four large instructional spaces for academics, including instruction in science, math, and history, and English.

Middle School
The Middle School moved into its current building in 2021. The garage at this former residence was converted into a beautiful new Music classroom, and the building has two large main spaces for academics.

Gymnasium
Our new full size gymnasium gives our students the chance to develop their physical and gross motor skills. We also work with the community to rent out this space to local organizations.

Admin House
The administrative building at 41 Eliot Street houses Riverbend’s business, advancement, and marketing offices. It also includes a meeting space and kitchen area.

Playgrounds & Athletic Fields
Children’s House and Upper School each have their own playground with engaging, age-appropriate equipment that students enjoy year-round. The athletic fields behind the gymnasium provide a vast space for students to use in physical education as well as field days and after school sporting events.

Magullion Center Nature Property
Our satellite campus on Pleasant Street is less than a mile away from our main campus. This stunning 5.5-acre nature property is an ideal location for sketching, journaling, small group discussions, and nature study. Students regularly travel to the Magullion Center on the Riverbend mini-bus.
