Merel, born in Amsterdam, has a deep connection to Montessori education from her own childhood. She holds a bachelor’s in Montessori education, certification for ages 3-12, and has two decades of teaching experience in the Netherlands and the U.S. Merel also has a Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling from UMass Boston, and she completed a yearlong internship at Williams College. She is excited to blend her Montessori teaching passion with her counseling expertise at Riverbend, aiming to create an inclusive and supportive environment for children and families.
