Angela joined Riverbend in 2021 as an Assistant Teacher and is currently a Primary Lead Teacher in the Maple room in Children’s House. After earning her undergraduate degree in psychology from Trinity University, she started her career in education in 2016, teaching 5th grade in San Antonio, TX. While teaching 5th grade, Angela realized how valuable and impactful her own Montessori experience had been growing up, and sought out the opportunity to teach in a Montessori classroom – enter Riverbend! As a perpetual learner, Angela received her Masters in Education from Harvard Graduate School of Education and her Montessori certification through the New England Montessori Teacher Education Center. Outside of Riverbend, Angela volunteers with the Children’s Room, a center for children experiencing grief, where she helps facilitate peer-to-peer support groups. In all of her work, Angela views children in their wholeness, and values their knowledge, curiosity, and joy!
