Suzanna joined Riverbend in 2021 and is currently a Primary Lead Teacher in the Oak room in Children’s House. After being a full time freelance photographer for 15 years, she went on to earn her Masters in Early Childhood Education. She holds a bachelor’s degree from The College of the Holy Cross and is Primary Montessori certified. Suzanna’s past work and life experience has equipped her with the ability to attend to each student’s individual needs, improvise, and connect with students and families. Suzanna expertly creates learning environments that foster creativity, where children feel safe, seen, and part of a community. She is inspired daily by children, their creativity, freedom of expression, and ability to find joy in the everyday.
Suzanna is a proud volunteer for Flashes of Hope, a non-profit organization dedicated to creating powerful, uplifting portraits of children fighting cancer and other life-threatening diseases.
In her free time, you can often find Suzanna learning and practicing new skills to make her home and spaces she inhabits more beautiful. Whether it is wallpapering, upholstery, painting, or interior design, she enjoys creating unique, inspiring spaces that reflect joy and personality. Just like the classroom, Suzanna believes that an engaging environment fosters curiosity and creativity.
Suzanna loves supporting live music and local artists, most especially her husband, who is a musician and has toured nationally. You will often find her at one of his shows with her two sons, who also love music and often try to sneak on stage with dad!
