Karin joined the Riverbend faculty in 2008, and has taught in every division of the school except Toddler. All four of her children, as well as her two step children, were educated in Montessori schools. She has extensive personal experience parenting children who learn differently and is passionate about meeting the needs of all learners. She is also passionate about creating a strong classroom community through digging into serious and challenging academic tasks while maintaining a sense of humor. In her spare time Karin enjoys being outdoors: walking the dog with her husband, kayaking in the ocean, or hiking. She also spends a lot of time with her adult children and is involved with her church.
