K-8th Grade Assemblies
Led by Middle School students, K-8 assemblies take place at least once a month, and they feature songs, games, and presentations by students and special guests. Parents and caregivers are always invited to attend!

We gather together in the gym as a Kindergarten through 8th grade community on a regular basis to sing songs, play silly games, and learn from one another. Assemblies provide students with the opportunity to feel connected with the Riverbend community across the different program levels.
Our Middle School students are responsible for hosting the assemblies, and Lower Elementary and Upper Elementary students make presentations as well. Some students thrive during their moment in the spotlight as they grab the microphone, find their voice, and shine. For others, this spotlight takes a little bit of getting used to, but all Riverbend students eventually become confident at public speaking by the time they reach 8th grade.
Assemblies provide opportunities for our community to learn from one another. When students have been learning something in the classroom that they feel the community should know about, they know that assemblies are an opportunity to share that learning. Assemblies also provide the chance to announce important events coming up, inspiring and engaging the whole school.
Families Are Welcome
We encourage families to attend assemblies as often as they are able, especially when their child is presenting. Please check the calendar for each assembly’s featured presenter. Having parents and caregivers be a part of the laughter and song builds our community in an even deeper way.
