Volunteer Opportunities
There are lots of ways for family members of Riverbend students to get involved and contribute to the community, including joining the Riverbend Parents Association, serving as a room parent, and volunteering to help at events throughout the year.
Riverbend Parents Association
Family volunteers help foster an alignment between home and school life, underscoring the holistic approach to education that is a pillar of Montessori philosophy. Riverbend has a Parents Association Leadership group that meets monthly to plan and strategize for upcoming events. Their job is to lead initiatives, recruit volunteers to support specific projects (like running a booth at Fall Fest), and help amplify all of the ways families can be involved at school.
Children’s House Room Parents
The role of a Room Parent is a vital and rewarding one, ensuring a seamless and enriching experience for both students and teachers. Room Parents help to facilitate communication between teachers and parents; organize social events to help children make new friends and strengthen existing relationships; support classroom teachers; and foster a sense of community among parents in the classroom and throughout Children’s House.
