About Our Calendar: The Big Picture
Our yearly calendar is intentionally designed to meet the academic and social emotional needs of our students. A weeklong break at Thanksgiving and two-week breaks during the winter holidays and March (beginning in 2026-2027) allow students the time they need to fully recharge with their families. They come back from breaks excited and ready to learn!
Flexibility
The two-week March break provides families with flexibility in scheduling travel. It also minimizes transitions in and out of breaks, which can be challenging for students and teachers.
Professional Development
Half days can be difficult for families to manage, so we schedule our professional development days on full days leading up to long weekend breaks throughout the year.
Independent School Cycle
All independent schools offer admissions decisions on March 10, so the March break allows us to give classroom tours and interview prospective students throughout February.
