Riverbend’s end-of-year festivities celebrate a year of hard work, growth, and joyful learning. The day includes an 8th grade graduation ceremony, a moving up ceremony for students advancing from one program level to the next, and a community lunch.

Last Day of School Celebration

The last day of school is a wonderful day of celebration! Students are dropped off as usual in the morning, and then parents are invited to return at 11:00 for the end-of-year festivities.

11:00 a.m. Join us for the Graduation and Toddler through 8th Grade Moving Up Ceremony, which commemorates a year of hard work and upcoming changes for each student at our school. The ceremony takes place on the Riverbend quad (or the gym if raining).

11:45 a.m. A school-wide lunch follows the Moving Up Ceremony. Please bring a picnic blanket!

Drop-off time for the start of the school day is normal for all students.

What is the dress code?

Dress for the Graduation and Moving Up Ceremony is “outdoor festive.” We want everyone to be comfortable! As a day of celebration, many students choose to wear something a little special on the last day of school.

What time should guests arrive for the Graduation and Moving Up Ceremony?

For those attending the Graduation and Moving Up Ceremony, please arrive no earlier than 10:45 a.m. and park in one of the available campus lots or neighboring public side streets. The ceremony takes place on the quad (the grassy area in front of the gym) – let’s hope for plenty of sunshine! Guests gather near the sidewalk, forming a large horseshoe shape around the students. Toddler, Primary, Lower Elementary, Upper Elementary, and Middle School students each sit in a defined, labeled section, and staff helps direct guests to the best viewing area(s). Students stay with their teachers throughout the ceremony, then return to their classrooms to say goodbye for the summer and dismissal.

What time should guests arrive for the school-wide lunch?

For those wishing to join us at noon for the school-wide lunch, please arrive no earlier than 11:45 a.m. and park in one of the available campus lots or neighboring public side streets. Sign your student out of their classroom and join us on the quad for lunch. Don’t forget to pack your picnic blanket!

How does pick up work?

If you are unable to join us for the day’s festivities, please pick up your child at the half-day dismissal time of 12:00 p.m. Park in one of the available campus lots or neighboring public side streets. Sign your student out of their classroom in order to be dismissed for the summer.
