As a lifelong learner and dedicated Montessorian, Asha is passionate about supporting each child in their self-construction. With 17 years of teaching experience, Asha is thrilled to continue this work at Riverbend. Graduating from Smith College with a Study of Women & Gender major and Education minor, Asha continued on to complete the Boston Teacher Residency program. After earning her Masters of Education through BTR she taught in Boston Public before discovering Montessori. She completed both her Primary and Elementary AMI trainings at Montessori Northwest, and her AMI Adolescent training at Hershey Montessori. Asha is the kind of person who proudly loves puns, trilobites, and kale. She is an involved member of the MIT Outing Club, where she regularly teaches rock climbing, ice climbing, winter hiking and more. Asha’s perfect day would include yoga, biking to a museum, climbing, coffee and books, and a social justice documentary film at a local indie theater–all in the same day!
