Asha Park-Carter

Lead Lower Elementary Teacher

Asha hails from Lawrence, KS and came to Massachusetts to attend Smith College, where she majored in the Study of Women and Gender and minored in Education. She has a Masters in Education from University of Massachusetts Boston through the Boston Teacher Residency program. She taught preschool in special education and inclusion settings in public school for several years before discovering Montessori education. Asha has three levels of AMI Montessori training, receiving her Primary and Elementary diplomas from Montessori Northwest, and her Adolescent training diploma from International Montessori Training Institute at Hershey. She is an involved member of the MIT Outing Club, where she regularly teaches rock climbing, winter hiking and more. She enjoys backcountry adventures, puns, eating all kinds of brassicas, social-justice documentary films, museums, trilobites, and reading books over coffee.
