
Darrin Pearson brings more than a decade of experience teaching physical education in independent schools, working with students from preschool through high school. He has taught at several independent schools in the area, including The Advent School, Cambridge Friends School, and Milton Academy, where he developed engaging programs that emphasize movement, teamwork, sportsmanship, and the lifelong value of healthy living.
Darrin holds a Master’s degree in Health Education from Teachers College, Columbia University, as well as a Master’s degree in Urban Education from Langston University. He is passionate about creating inclusive learning environments where every student can build confidence, develop resilience, and experience the joy of movement. Throughout his career, he has also contributed to diversity and belonging initiatives and has served as an advisor and coach, reflecting his commitment to supporting the whole child.
Outside the classroom, Darrin has coached football, track and field, and cross country at both the high school and collegiate levels. Darrin currently coaches college football at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). He lives in Quincy with his wife and active 9-year-old son. Darrin enjoys sporting events with his family and going to the beach. He is excited to join the Riverbend community and looks forward to helping students discover confidence, collaboration, and a love of physical activity.
