Jaque began working with children as a volunteer in South America in her early twenties. She later spent two years as an Au Pair in Belmont before supporting families in Boston. It was through one of those families that she was introduced to the Montessori philosophy—not just as a method of education, but as a way of life. Watching a young toddler thrive in a Montessori environment inspired her to pursue a career in Montessori education.
Her passion for children also led her to spend several years photographing children and families, deepening her appreciation for childhood and development. After becoming a mother, Jaque decided to turn her long-standing interest in Montessori into a profession. She earned her Montessori certification from NEMTEC in 2019 and later completed a Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education at Gordon College.
Jaque believes it’s never too late to learn something new. In her free time, she is fulfilling a childhood dream of learning to play the piano and enjoys making music with her eight-year-old son. During the summer, they love visiting family in South America, spending time in nature, attempting to grow tomatoes and herbs, and enjoying the beaches and surfing along the New England coast.
