Sophilia LeBlanc is Riverbend’s Spanish teacher. She brings over 15 years of experience teaching Spanish to all ages of learners. Sophilia taught in Spain, but Massachusetts is where she really developed her love of teaching. She has spent much of her career piloting elementary Spanish programs, with a strong focus on curriculum rooted in comprehensible input and joyful language acquisition. Movement, music, and engaging activities are key elements of every lesson.

Outside of the classroom, Sophilia brings creativity and curiosity to her personal life. She enjoys creative activities like calligraphy, engraving, and jewelry making. She stays active by roller skating, traveling, and dancing. Sophilia fuels her love of learning by listening to audiobooks and her favorite podcasts which include Against the Odds, Ologies, and the Duolingo Spanish podcast.
